Born and raised in Indiana, Dr. Janelle Maxwell Pflieger and Dr. Matt Pflieger have returned home to start their own direct primary care practice. After spending 10 years in Colorado practicing through the conventional medical system, these two family physicians saw a better way to serve their community with direct primary care where the doctor/patient relationship comes first. They have built Cardinal Family Medicine with old-fashioned values where your family's health is their top priority.

The Journey to a Healthier Family Health Care Practice

Timeline

2001

Janelle and Matt meet in physics lab and discover their common passion for medicine while attending Indiana University in Bloomington, where Matt earns a degree in Psychology and Janelle a degree in Biology.

2003

Matt and Janelle are married in September 2003 while attending medical school at Midwestern University in Chicago.

2007-2010

Matt and Janelle complete their Family Medicine residency in Littleton, Colorado at Swedish Family Medicine in 2009 and 2010 respectively. The couple is blessed with two sons: Isaac and Eli.

2010-2016

Matt and Janelle work at Denver-area Community Health Centers. They begin to miss the Midwest and decide to move back home. While researching job opportunities in northeast Indiana they stumble upon this cool thing called Direct Primary Care and promptly decide to start their own practice.

October 2016

After months of hard work and sweat equity, Cardinal Family Medicine opens its doors to the Huntington County community.

And the rest they say is history.

Marina Doctor, FNP

Marina is an integral member of our team who has a long history in health care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. She graduated from St. Francis University for both nursing and her nurse practitioner degree.

She works for our patients to ensure easy access when they need it. She collaborates with businesses who are partnered with us to ensure employees are getting care that prevents disruption to work schedules.

Marina also has a very active practice with skin tag and other skin lesion removal. She has a lot of experience in helping patients with great aesthetic results afterwards. This service is for both members and non-members.
